January 05 Toyota’s December SalesToyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc. accounted their best-ever year-end sales of 2,620,825 vehicles. Records revealed that they were up by 2.7 percent over last year’s figures. The company now has 12 straight years of exceptional record-breaking sales. The Lexus brand on the other hand is obviously doing great. It’s “sky is the limit” for Lexus and a great rampage of vehicle sales is expected to pour down Toyota’s window for the next years to follow."Great products and value drive a volatile market and put the consumer in the driver's seat," said TMS President Jim Lentz. "Toyota, Lexus and Scion deliver on both."
According to the Auto Channel, Lexus held on to its position as the best-selling luxury nameplate in America for 8 straight years. The brand had their best-ever total sales of 329,177 units last year. They were up by 1.8 percent compared to 2006. The Scion lineup of vehicles threw in a fair record sales year with a grand total of 130,181. The company accounted December as a weak month for them with total sales of 224,399 - a drop of 1.7 percent from the same period in 2007.
