More good news for Toyota

Speaking of Toyotas’ growth, Inside Line reports, Toyota now worth more than Wal-Mart in financial terms.

According to the report, Toyota has just passed even Wal-Mart as its stock price hit an all-time record Friday and its market value climbed above $200 billion. A portfolio manager quoted by Reuters news service said he saw "nothing negative you can point to with Toyota." The news service noted that Toyota is now worth more than twice the combined value of DaimlerChrysler, Ford, and General Motors in terms of market capitalization.

That’s good news for all Toyota fans. And because owning a reliable and popular car like one of Toyota is indeed a great experience – we should all take care to protect our investment. Should your Toyota ever need replacement auto parts like mirrors, radiators, hubcaps, windshield wipers or headlights, you know where to go, it’s at Toyota Parts Online.

Toyota’s growth continues

While other automakers now struggle to keep afloat, cutting back on employment and production in North America, Toyota Motor Corp. is pouring a record amount of money into new factories to serve U.S. consumers, indicating that the threat from Japan's auto industry could be an even bigger problem for Detroit in coming years.

Early this month, Toyota reported a 34 percent jump in fiscal third-quarter net profit to a quarterly record of $3.34 billion. The giant automaker also said that it is set to invest $11.8 billion in plants and equipment before the end of its fiscal year March 31 -- a 29 percent increase over the $9.1 billion Toyota invested the previous year. Sales for the quarter increased 15 percent to a company record of $45 billion.

And with the launching of the new model of one of its bestsellers, the 2007 Toyota Camry and its Hybrid counterpart earlier this year – plus the bigger, bolder 2007 Toyota Tundra this month – there is no doubt that Toyota is looking at a brighter future ahead.

For Toyota lovers like us, there’s no better way to express our appreciation for the good performance our Toyota vehicles give us like proper care and maintenance. When we need replacement auto parts like Toyota Corolla radiator, Toyota Highlander hubcaps, or Toyota RAV4 bumpers – we can also count on reliable online auto parts stores like Toyota Parts Online to give us the best auto parts in the market.

2007 Toyota Tundra: Bigger, Better, Bolder

Toyota's redesigned 2007 Tundra is set to debut this week at the Chicago Auto Show. It is bigger, better, bolder – and is aiming squarely at the Ford F-150 and the Chevrolet Silverado.

The new Tundra, first seen as a concept at the Detroit Auto Show two years ago as the FTX, will be much larger than the current Tundra. Expect the new Tundra to be also larger than existing Ford, GM and Dodge pickups.

Such is the truck's promise of success that Toyota is preparing not one, but two U.S. plants to assemble it.

Excited already for this truck to hit the dealerships? You will have to wait for a bit longer – and while you do, why don't you try and give your trusty Toyota Highlander a facelift with a new
bumper and rocker panel from Toyota Parts Online?

Automated parking, anyone?

Here’s an interesting bit of news I found at mph-online: Robodude, where’s my car?

Oh yes, that won’t be Ashton Kutcher asking you where he parked his car after a night of wild drinking with his friends. But, that could be an Ashton Kutcher going the asking to a Robotic-operated garage in a town or city near you.

Automated parking garages are designed to save space, but they also take people, dents, and misplaced keys out of the parking equation. These are already popular in congested areas of Europe and Asia – two are already operating in the U.S.: a public facility in Hoboken, N.J., and a private one in Washington, D.C., and more are in planning or manufacturing stages in Florida, Philadelphia, Chicago, and San Francisco.

In Boston for instance, construction could begin late this year of its first automated garage for Lovejoy Wharf, a condominium complex where 260 residences and 325 parking spaces are being developed. And what can the residents expect from this robotic-operated garage?

For one, could leave their vehicles on an 8-foot-long steel pallet on the floor of a one-car bay, turn off the ignition, step away, and let technology take it from there.

Then the pallet will carry the car into the garage, move the vehicle through the building on steel wheels and tracks, and deposit it into an available slot in a steel rack. Before parking the car, a mechanical device will swivel it around 180 degrees, to speed up retrieval.

There might also be a system which will memorize the residents' use patterns and will "shuffle" vehicles during slow periods late at night, so early birds' cars will be nearest the exit in the morning. Retrieval of a vehicle will takes two to three minutes, and at busy times a garage, typically with two delivery bays, can deliver 80 or so an hour.

Sounds good? Learn more here.

Meanwhile, before you can dream of parking your car in such a hi-tech place, have your car in smooth running condition first. Should you need top of the line
