Radiant Red and Blue Streak are the colors of the first two Texas-made Toyota Tundras.

The pickups debuted Friday in San Antonio before local and state officials, Toyota officials and hundreds of "team members" who'll assemble the vehicles.

Toyota says the 2.2 million square-foot manufacturing plant and the facility's 21 onsite suppliers will mean more than 4,000 jobs.

The Tundras rolled out from behind a barn door on a stage complete with a fence, saddle and hay. The trucks were also filled with workers from every part of the plant - from paint to plastics to welding.

According to Toyota officials, if consumer demand pushes the plant on San Antonio's south side to operate at full capacity, which could happen by next spring, a truck will roll off the line an average of every 73 seconds, taking 20 to 24 hours to complete.

Motor Trend Magazine announced recently that the redesigned Toyota Camry, the sixth edition of America’s best-selling car is their chosen 2007 Car of the Year. News from Seattle: One of Washington’s largest auto insurers is warning buyers about the wave of water damaged cars that are sold in the market in the guise of used or second hand cars. According to Jon Osterbergs, spokesperson of PEMCO insurance, the local consumers in Washington State are especially vulnerable since insurance in their state does not considered cars damaged by flood as a total loss. He further stated that "Once a car has been submerged by flood water, the damage can be severe. For example, even a small amount of water can ruin a car's increasingly complex electronic system.”

He also said that flood water can also caused corroding air-bag controllers and electronics, contaminate lubricants and threaten mechanical system making the car unsafe to drive. And that’s not all, the damage is often not visible so would be buyers won’t be able to see the problem.

To warn consumers PEMCO has voluntarily reports each flood-damaged cars that are declared a total loss to auto databases such the CARFAX that are available to consumers. Ostenberg said, "We're taking this preventive measure to keep people safe and keep flood-damaged cars off the roads."

For the third straight year, owners of the Toyota Prius were the most satisfied, with 92% saying they'd buy the fuel-efficient hybrid sedan again, the Detroit News reported, citing the latest Consumer Reports National Research Center satisfaction survey results.

Ranking second was the agile and fast Chevrolet Corvette.

Of the 45 vehicles that ranked the most satisfying -- 80% or more survey respondents said they'd definitely buy it again -- seven were made by Detroit automakers. That list includes the Ford Mustang, Pontiac Solstice, Dodge Charger, Buick Lucerne, Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Japanese automakers Toyota and Honda dominated the list, the story said.

On the magazine's least satisfying list -- fewer than half of buyers said they'd definitely buy it again -- 26 of 31 were domestic models.

In general, the cars that ranked most satisfying boasted either extraordinary fuel-economy or exceptional style and sportiness.

Those at the other end of the spectrum were primarily pickups, SUVs and minivans, which also have seen a dip in sales this year.

Consumer Reports compiled survey results from 950,000 subscribers who responded to questions about 1.3 million vehicles.

While I was browsing along the Toyota web site the tab that lead to Toyota’s concept vehicles caught my attention. And among the concept vehicles that really caught my eye was the CS & S concept vehicle.

It has a unique design which I found beautiful and odd at the same time. It didn’t have the usual windshield and I wondered what will protect the car from the wind while you are driving. It’s not a top down convertible so the next concern was what happens when it rains?

So I searched for more information on the CS & S and found a video about it at zemq.com. And my reaction? AWESOME… this coupe is loaded with amazing features like for instance, you would think that it’s just a two-seat coupe and then suddenly the back canopy opens up to reveal hidden back seats.

And regarding my “what if it rains concern” the front seats of the CS & S may be used as a tonneau cover to keep the rain off and thieves out. SWEET!

The CS & S is a four wheel drive, mid-engine, 2+2 sports car which makes use of Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive. An electric motor drives the front wheels, while the rear wheel is driven through a combination of a gas engine and electric motor which according to Toyota improves cornering stability. The CS & S concept vehicle also features Toyota Space Touch in which a driver is simply to select functions by touching holographic projections. At present Toyota has no plan of mass producing the CS & S, all we can do for now is to dream of it.
