And what will you get for choosing to drive a Toyota Prius or a Lexus RX 400h Hybrid?
A tax credit, that's what.
Starting this month, consumers who buy hybrid vehicles can claim tax credits of as much as $3,400 under new guidelines issued Friday by the Treasury Department, partially offsetting the higher sticker prices of the gas-electric cars and trucks.
According to the guidelines, buyers can claim a fuel economy credit of $400 to $2,400, and an additional "conservation credit" of $250 to $1,000, based on the estimated lifetime fuel savings. The credit is calculated based on a vehicle's fuel economy improvement compared with a similar vehicle from the 2002 model year.
For Toyota hybrid owners, the tax credit could range from $2,200 to $3,150 depending on the hybrid that the buyer chooses -- from its thrifty Prius to its big Highlander SUV. However, the tax credit will be phased out after July if a manufacturer has sold 60,000 hybrid vehicles by April. And from the way the Toyota Prius has been selling (the automaker sold more than 100,000 of its hybrid Prius models last year), it won’t be long until the automaker loses its credits before its competitors.
So, what does that mean?
If you're planning to get yourself a Toyota hybrid vehicle, you better hurry. Those credits won't be there for long, unlike the quality Toyota Camry parts you can find at Toyota Parts Online.
And to think you haven't even seen the new Camry Hybrid yet.
1月11日 The Toyota Camry is the best-selling model in its segment, with 2005 figures showing it was the best-selling car in the United States for the fourth year in a row, and eight of the last nine years (once again beating the Accord and other mid-size competitors such as the Chevrolet Impala). Toyota knew however, that it could not sit idly on its laurels. So now, it unveils the all-new 2007 Toyota Camry and Toyota Hybrid.

According to Toyota officials, the new Camry is more sophisticated than its predecessors, with rounder lines and more muscular details, along with luxury features that customers demand. This includes a lower roof line and a wider stance, as well as zoned climate controls, an ionizer to improve interior air quality and even an upholstery fabric that's "gentle on the skin”.
If you want to do more than just giving your current Toyota a facelift with new auto parts like Toyota grilles, hubcaps or spoilers from Toyota Parts Online.

2005
was a big year for Toyota. And this year, expect more big things to
come from our favorite automaker. Jerry Flint of Forbes.com is on the
dot with his article, Toyota’s Onslaught, and here are the juiciest parts for your consumption:
Look at the (Toyota’s) lineup coming over the next 12 months: •
A new RAV4. That's the original little SUV; but this one, due soon,
grows long enough for a third seat row and heavy enough to warrant an
optional V6 at 269hp as an alternative to the 166hp four-cylinder
engine. Toyota sells 70,000 of the old RAV4s a year. I figure Toyota
will double that number with these new vehicles. This will squeeze
Honda's CR-V and Ford's Escape, maybe even the Jeep Liberty. •
The Yaris. This is a small, high-mileage car, sold in Europe and Japan
now. There will be a two-door hatchback only 150 inches long. That is
shorter than it sounds — only six inches longer than the BMW Mini.
Toyota will also have a four-door sedan of more normal length, at 14
feet. Small cars have not done well in America. Toyota's last, the
Echo, was no success. But the Big Three of Japan — Toyota, Nissan and
Honda — are tossing these small cars into the market next year. The
Yaris will come out first in the spring. Maybe the gasoline price shock
of 2005 will spur their sales. Figure 70,000 full-year sales for this
new Toyota, conservatively. •
A new Camry, out this spring. The Camry, built in Kentucky, is
America's bestselling car, at 400,000 or so units this year. But the
car testers at Motor Trend and Car and Driver rate it behind Honda's
Accord, Ford's new Fusion and even Hyundai's Sonata. I expect big
improvements next year, including a six-cylinder engine delivering
extra horsepower, to help Toyota hold to its number one spot.
• A Camry hybrid. Coming next fall, the bestselling car gets a hybrid
version with a four-cylinder gasoline engine plus the electric motor.
Mileage could top 40 per gallon. Maybe 40,000 added sales. •
The FJ. A new SUV with a military Hummer-like look but normal size and
normal price, probably in the $25,000-and-under territory. Likely to be
very popular, maybe 50,000 full-year sales. Comes in the spring. • A new Tundra pickup and a new plant too, next fall. I figure this will add 150,000 sales here in 2007.
Together this comes to 400,000 in added sales, and I'm not counting the
Lexus division, which just added new IS models and has new cars coming
next year, such as the ES sedan, a new LS luxury model and a hybrid GS
luxury model.
And
the rest of us could only nod in collective agreement. Indeed, Toyota
is poised to snatch away the world’s biggest automaker title from
troubled American automakers GM and Ford. As our friend Jerry Flint
puts it, “Indeed, by the end of 2007 Toyota could pass
DaimlerChrysler and even be challenging Ford as the second-largest
seller of cars in the U.S.”
Ah, we can hardly wait.
